The facts are that if you have a catastrophic failure on a hard drive then a lot, if not all of your data will no longer be accessible.

Note we use the words “no longer be accessible” we DO NOT use the words LOST!

It may appear scrambled and unusable to most, but a lot of it is still there!

Too often at this point we have simply taken our old PC down to the local refuse site or handed it over to a Computer Repairer in the high street. At no time have we considered that the data still held on that old, seemingly useless PC still has a value to a criminal.

To make sure that the old hard drive is completely wiped or destroyed you need to contact organisations such as Secure Data Recycling and leave nothing to chance.
