In 2015 Coal is still the major threat to the climate

Coal Power Station

At Secure Data Recycling we find it amazing that in 2015 with all the renewable energy being developed that COAL is still the number one threat to the environment.
At the COP21 researchers said “construction would see emissions four times higher than the 2 degree target by 2030”.

They go on to say “the building plans are in conflict with the carbon cutting agendas of countries like India and China, the Climate Action Tracker analysis says that 2,440 coal fired power stations are planned around the world before 2030″.

“Emissions from the world’s existing plants will be 150% higher than what is consistent with a 2 degree target”, says their report.

In short the existing Coal Powered Power stations will mean we will miss the 2% target and what will happen if another 2,440 new Coal Fired Power Stations are built in addition to the ones already in existence?
