5 WEEE thoughts for 2016

The figures in 2015 show that the UK is on target to hit its end-of-year target for 2015.  That’s good news, because it shows that companies like Secure Data Recycling are doing a great job.

Recycling rates in general are increasing, which means the market is maturing nicely and the system is working. This is great news for us at Secure Data Recycling as we are ready to expand in 2016.

For some producers, the move over to compliance with B2C legislation could mean being required to finance a greater proportion of the costs associated with meeting household WEEE targets. Secure Data Recycling is committed to helping producers keep their WEEE recycling costs down.

Increased amounts of B2C EEE  is not only an indication of the dual use impacts, but also reflects the improving economic climate.  Handling B2C is more of a challenge than B2B, but Secure Data Recycling never hide from a challenge and are putting B2C programs in place today to help producers.

Some producers may be able to reduce their 2016 obligation by netting off any EEE exports from quarterly reporting. If you do export, this will be worth investigating. Secure Data Recycling can give you great advice on how best to deal with the WEEE legislation.
