Are Music festivals an Environmental Disaster?

Beyond good vibes and heady memories, a primary export of the Worlds Appetite for Music Festivals is garbage. At the big events like Glastonbury literally tons of trash are created by fans, vendors and artists. Add the mass energy consumption and weighty carbon footprint of 200,000 people driving to these big events can be environmentally problematic.

It will probably get worse before it gets better, as the festival circuit continues its rapid expansion.

I am sure that festival organisers have the best “Green” intentions but alas we feel that many will not reach the standards they have been set.

We at Secure Data Recycling are not saying don’t have fun, but do remember the environment.  Take everything home, only use fully recyclable containers and do the festival organisers a favor!
