Electronics retailers are requested to register for the IV phase of the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) Distributor Take-back Scheme (DTS). The scheme will run till the end of year 2019. It was initially set up under the WEEE regulations in 2007 to facilitate that electronics retailers meet their requirement of funding the collection of WEEE.  The retailers who don’t want to be a part of this scheme will have to establish their own scheme for WEEE.
