The Environment

Paper recycling

Every piece of paper collected by Secure Data Recycling is shredded and then recycled at a paper mill for re-use in the form of household paper, writing paper etc. For every 1,000 kilos of paper recycled, approximately 14 trees and 2 cubic metres of landfill space can be saved.

You too can help to save the environment by choosing to shred and recycle. Environment Certificates are offered for any company wishing to record their recycling achievements.

WEEE recycling

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive aims to reduce the amount of e-waste that ends up in landfill. Any company that manufactures, distributes, disposes of or recycles electronic goods must deal with end-of-life products using WEEE-compliant procedures without harming the environment.

Environmental benefits of WEEE recycling

Many WEEE items contain harmful materials that could pollute the atmosphere. When these items are disposed of correctly, it reduces the burden on landfill and lowers volumes of harmful chemicals being emitted into the air.

Using recycled rather than raw materials to make new products reduces energy consumption and lowers greenhouse gas emissions.
