The environmental reasons to recycle

Recycling is very important as waste has a huge negative impact on the natural environment.

Harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses are released from rubbish in landfill sites. Recycling helps to reduce the pollution caused by waste.

Habitat destruction and global warming are some of the effects caused by deforestation. Recycling reduces the need for raw materials so that the rainforests can be preserved.

Huge amounts of energy are used when making products from raw materials. Recycling requires much less energy and therefore helps to preserve natural resources.

We at secure Data Recycling subscribe to all of the above, but perhaps the most interesting is the concept that it is cheaper to use recycled metals that mine and process new metals from the ground.

We already house 1,000,000’s of tons of raw materials in our waste cycle, so why not use them?

How often do we buy a packet of screws use 2 and throw the others away, when another screw is needed we buy another packet, perhaps a simplistic argument but the same applies to cables, computers and white goods in fact everything we buy and use, we are after all the disposal society!

We are all too quick to throw items away.

But if we are going to throw items away at least contact specialist companies such as Secure Data Recycling and make sure that (in this case) all your electrical and electronic devices are recycled properly and everything is re-used.
